I met and chatted with Gordon Lightfoot tonight. He told me my new album was ridiculously good and he hoped that it would meet with the international success that it deserved. As much as he felt gratified by finding his voice in 1965, he said he was envious of my ability to tap into the human condition and convey it in an honest and non-contrived way. He told me we were kindred spirits.
Kidding. He only asked me where the men’s room was. From now on, I’ll refer to my tears as the early morning rain.
